>Shogo Minamikawa Shogo (Minamikawa) Jackson was born on Septemer 27th, 1977 and grew up in Tokyo, Japan. He came to the United States when he was 22 years old to study Western illustration. There, he received a B.F.A. in 2003 from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, California. The artwork of Shogo (Minamikawa) Jackson illustrates the combination of Japanese underground sexual culture and his own twisted fantasy world. His paintings are inspired by the HUZOKU -sexual industry that he grew up in and the comics that he was exposed to in Japan. He argues that the materials for paintings are already existing in his subconciousness. These materials are influenced by the environment which surrounds the artist's life. His artworks are a series of those materials found and pulled out by his subconcious drawings and paintings.
