I
was born in London England in 1969
I have a BA in fashion and Textile design, Brighton university,UK.
I am originally from England but have made LA my home for the past
five and a half years.
Before this I lived in NYC for about eight years, where I worked
as an Art Director for a textile design company.
Painting came about as a side project to relieve the boredom of
designing textile patterns. I stumbled into it by accident…on
the way to drop off a gift of art to a friend, I stopped into a
gallery that asked to see what I was carrying. They asked me if
I would like to exhibit the work in a forthcoming show. So I began
to make and exhibit my work-which at the time was extremely different
from what I do now. After exhibiting in NYC for a while, I took
a break from painting completely and moved to Los Angeles.
In August 2000, I started a series of paintings entitled ‘Flyer
Miles’. This series is based on my love of Vinyl and club
flyer graphics and is kind of a homage to all the amazing graphics
produced for this arena. After the success of a local colo show
I had in Aug 2000, I spent the next two years showing and working
full-time as an artist and designer.
Beginning of 2003, I’ve been mostly doing a lot of graphic
design work-magazine illustrations, CD and T-shirt designs.
I’m co-organizing ‘SW2’ – coming this July
to Berlin.
Watch out for my new series coming the end of 2003 “Living
Room”.
