In
order to avoid repetition of images and concepts, twenty-seven year
old artist Frank B. Diettinger approaches each work as if he were
a different person. Each unique piece incorporates his compulsive
attention to detail and process, and exhibits the conceptual freedom
fueled by his constant state of discovery. Thusly, Diettinger aims
to “detach” himself from his work. Relinquishing the over-effective
role of sole creator, he acts as a participant in a creative process
whereby his works take on their own forms and evolve independently
of his conscious self. Diettinger views his creative process as an
ongoing healing mechanism that separates him from his own consciousness
and produces works that are, ideally, free from subjective prejudice.
